Key Responsibilities – SANParks Jobs

As a Gate Guard at Addo Elephant National Park, your duties will include:

• Access Control: Managing entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and preventing unauthorized access.
• Security & Law Enforcement: Ensuring the protection of park property and reporting suspicious activities.
• Visitor Assistance: Providing park information, directing guests, and resolving minor conflicts.
• Traffic & Logistics: Monitoring vehicle movement and coordinating deliveries.
• Maintenance: Performing basic upkeep tasks such as cleaning gate areas and maintaining surroundings.
• Record-Keeping: Documenting arrivals and departures of staff and visitors.

Requirements : SANParks Jobs

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• Fitness & Training: Successful completion of the Ranger Fitness Selection Program.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Accredited Basic Field Ranger Training (advantageous).
  • Experience in conservation, security, or access control.
• Legal Knowledge: Understanding of conservation legislation.
• Medical Clearance: Must be willing to undergo a medical examination.
• Residency Requirement: Must be willing to live inside the park (accommodation provided).
