General Worker (Redline Gate/Guard/Fence Patrol) Positions (4 Posts)
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Grade 10 or equivalent, as recognized by SAQA.
- Additional Advantage: Experience in Security Services.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to read and write.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine manual farming tasks.
- Control and monitor the movement of cloven-hoofed animals.
- Stop, register, and search vehicles entering or leaving the redline area to check for restricted materials, such as meat, dairy products, dung, and hides.
- Confiscate and dispose of restricted items.
- Operate the gate, opening and closing as needed.
- Report confiscated items to the supervisor.
- Patrol the redline fence and ensure its integrity by performing routine checks.
- Repair any damage to the fence and clear any obstructions, such as bushes or debris.
- Track animal movement along the fence and ensure quarantined animals remain within designated areas.
- Verify permits for quarantined animals and collaborate with Animal Health Technicians for inspections.
- Maintain accurate records, including vehicle and quarantine registers.
